Princeton University Press is seeking an Acquisitions Editor to oversee and grow the Press's publishing program in both Art and Literature. The acquisitions editor will build upon and enhance the well-established relationships between the Press and the Art and Literature communities--both in the academic world and the broader world of arts, letters, and culture. The editor will identify new authors and areas of interest within these fields, with the goal of signing and publishing approximately 20 new books each year consisting of a mix of scholarly monographs, trade books, primary source material, and books for course use. Frequent campus visits and conference attendance to meet with current and prospective authors will be required. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in scholarly publishing with a proven ability to acquire and publish books within the fields of art and literature, and/or the humanities more broadly, the ability to communicate comfortably with both academic and non-academic authors, and the demonstrated capacity to identify market niches and publishing opportunities. A facility with a publishing P&L and contract, and a familiarity with the peer review process is strongly preferred.
