Internships

Princeton University Press offers unpaid internships in several areas of publishing. These internships can qualify for course credit - please check with your course advisor. Internships are for one semester and require you to be present an average of 15 hours per week.


Marketing Internship: Fall 2009

Job Title: Marketing Intern
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Associate Marketing Director

Purpose

The Marketing Intern assists the Associate Marketing Director in the production and mailing of promotional pieces (catalogs, brochures, and flyers), and offers general marketing department support.

Accountabilities

  1. Price checking promotional pieces to ensure accuracy.
  2. Research mailing lists for possible use.
  3. Compile electronic files of promotional copy and/or book jackets for use by the designer.
  4. Update existing mailing lists to ensure accuracy.
  5. Print out promotional material for review.
  6. Completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

Organization

The Marketing Intern reports to the Associate Marketing Director. There are no direct reports to the intern.

Challenges and Opportunities

The Marketing Intern has the opportunity to participate in the promotional activities associated with the publication of scholarly books.

Position Requirements

  1. Attending a four-year college or university with a strong concentration, or major, in the humanities, preferably English or Communications.
  2. High proficiency in English Language.
  3. Must be proficient with computers.
  4. Must be detail oriented.
  5. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and follow-up with projects.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit, use hands, see, talk and hear. This is a typical office-type environment.
