PUBLICIST

Princeton University Press, an independent publisher located on the campus of Princeton University, seeks a highly-motivated and creative Publicist to join its team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop publicity campaigns for 35-40 trade and scholarly non-fiction titles annually
  • Pitch to media to secure coverage, including doing seasonal in person media calls
  • Write press releases and pitch letters and conduct targeted galley and review copy mailings
  • Organize and disseminate media hits
  • Coordinate national author tours and events
  • Communicate with authors
  • Represent publisher at author and industry events
  • Participate in and present publicity campaigns at weekly marketing meetings

Required Skills:

  • Two – three years of publicity experience
  • Proven track record placing media coverage of serious non-fiction
  • Established relationships with print, broadcast, and online media
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with editorial, sales, and marketing departments
  • Ability and willingness to work in Princeton, New Jersey
