Instructions for "Author as TeX Compositor" Projects

This page contains instructions for preparing and submitting your manuscript for the production phase of publication at Princeton University Press.

These instructions were designed for projects written using LaTeX, AMS-TeX, or other version of TeX, where the author has contracted not only to submit a manuscript, but also to input corrections after copyediting and to implement the final layout as directed by the Production Editor.

You will need to prepare your manuscript to meet the following requirements:

  • Illustrations Meet Quality Standards

You will need to submit the following materials:

  • Manuscript
  • Permissions Documentation
     
    • copies of all permission documents
      We absolutely need copies of any correspondence from rights-holders you have contacted.
       
  • Satellite Documents
  • Marketing Form (APF) for New Books (.doc)
    We absolutely need your input to promote and sell your book.
     
  • Copyright Information Form
    We absolutely need this information to apply for copyright registration with the U.S. Copyright Office. This form also confirms that the print and digital permissions for third-party copyrighted material have been cleared.
     
  • Jacket Design Form (.doc)
    This is your chance to share ideas about the book cover. (If your book will be part of a series, it may already have a preset cover design.)

Please submit your manuscript, satellite documents, including the Author Checklist, and permissions documentation to:

We can accept compressed files in the following formats:

  • .zip (Windows PCs and newer Macs)
  • .sit (older Macs)
  • .tgz or .tar.gz (Unix machines)

We may ask you to mail us a disk if transmission by email fails.
