This week’s featured mammal from the Mammals of North America App is the American Badger, a nocturnal animal found in open grasslands and “prairie” regions. Though they may look cute, badgers are very aggressive and difficult to tame.

Fun fact: the American badger is also known as “nature’s digging machine!” Check out this video of a badger digging a den in Nevada:
