Facing Pages

Facing Pages is a series of newly commissioned translations made by leading contemporary English-speaking writers from the works of poets living or dead. At a time when nationalist, parochialist, and separatist pressures are threatening to gain a new respectability, this series aims to bring poetic cultures together in a spirit of encounter and interchange, not confrontation. Poets, languages, poems meet here on equal terms, face to face.
