Publicity Information For Authors
Princeton University Press’s UK-based Publicity Department supports the promotion of our books and authors in Europe, as well as in the Middle-East, South-Asia, and Africa.
What we can do for you and your book
Interviews
We are able to arrange author interviews with a variety of media, including radio, TV, podcasts, and print. Examples of broadcast media with whom we have worked include:
- BBC: for example, Start the Week, Thinking Allowed, The Forum, Nightwaves
- CNBC Europe
- CNN International
- Bloomberg Europe
Opinion pieces
Where appropriate we contact comment editors to suggest op-eds.
Review copies
We send out proofs and review copies to appropriate broadsheets, weekly magazines, academic journals, and blogs to generate reviews and articles.
Social media
Princeton University Press has a blog, a twitter account, a Google+ page , and a Facebook page to which the European office contributes regularly.
Author tours
Where pertinent, and depending on an author's travel plans, we can arrange speaking possibilities and engagements. These could be at the RSA, the London School of Economics, HM Treasury, Chatham House, the British Academy, various Think Tanks, Literary Festivals, and a range of venues in mainland Europe.
Conferences
We support the European sales team with promotional materials, and arrange exhibits at major academic conferences in Europe. We can also provide flyers for authors to use at events they are attending.
Inspection copies
We liaise with our European sales team who send out inspection copies to appropriate lecturers in the relevant academic field.
Marketing: by which we mean the production and circulation of catalogs, leaflets, flyers, and emails, and the placing of advertisements, is handled by our US office. They also ensure that our books are submitted for a wide range of relevant awards. Princeton University Press's Europe publicity team works closely with their colleagues in the United States to ensure that the promotion of any PUP book is coordinated and global.
