Translation Rights Information for PUP Authors
Dear PUP Author
Congratulations on signing your book for publication with Princeton University Press. Where PUP controls the translation rights to your book, we can now start making our team of international rights agents and our partners in international publishing houses aware of the availability of rights to PUP books. We make our catalogs available to all interested publishers and we select key titles from our forthcoming lists to promote actively amongst our networks of important and reputable publishing houses around the world. We license frequently and actively in dozens of languages around the world and we are pleased to hear of interest from potential new publishing partners.
PUP works closely with some of the most prestigious international rights agencies around the globe to find the best publishing partners for all of our books, and in some territories we pitch our books directly to key publishers.
If you know of any publishers interested in translating your book, please inform the International Rights Manager immediately of the prospect, and we will endeavor to follow up with the publisher as quickly as possible. Please be advised that PUP does not license directly to translators; in all cases, we require a formal offer from a reputable publishing house, in order to protect the integrity and reputation of your work.
If you have any specific questions regarding translation rights, please don’t hesitate to ask our International Rights Manager for information.
