Fully updated, with new images, revised artwork, and the latest distribution data, this comprehensive photographic guide to whales, dolphins, and porpoises now covers coastal southwest Ireland and the Celtic Sea as well as the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay. Designed for easy use at sea or when watching from land, it covers all 18 regularly seen species and the 13 rarities that have also been recorded. It includes details of status and behavior, as well as introductory sessions to help you get the most from your whale watching in the region.
Dylan Walker and Graeme Cresswell are coauthors of several books, most recently the WILDGuides title Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific (with Todd Pusser). Walker is a leading authority on the whales and dolphins of the European Atlantic. The first person to run whale-watching tours in the Bay of Biscay, he has now crossed Biscay and the English Channel more than 200 times. An accomplished author, photographer, and tour guide, Walker now works for whale and dolphin conservation charity ORCA, and co-owns ethical ecotourism business Planet Whale. Cresswell, an accomplished marine mammal writer and photographer, has traveled extensively throughout the North Atlantic and North Pacific, where he has now photographed more than thirty species of cetacean. His articles and images have been widely published in magazines and newspapers, scientific journals, and books. He is a founding member of ORCA. "[T]his is a very useful book. . . . It will definitely accompany me on my next sea-trip."--Mammal Society Another Princeton book authored or coauthored by Dylan Walker: Another Princeton book authored or coauthored by Graeme Cresswell: Series: Subject Areas:
