Nicholas BuccolaThe Fire Is upon Us: James Baldwin, William F. Buckley Jr., and the Debate over Race in America

Join the Cambridge Union for this screening of the historic James Baldwin FR Buckley Junior debate. This debate, on the motion “This House Believes the American Dream has been achieved at the expense of the negro” packed our chamber to the rafters, and the footage is striking.

Prior to this event there will be a panel discussion of the event, with the President from the time, Peter Fullerton and David Heycock, a student who spoke at the event, alongside Nick Buccola who has written a book about the great debate.

Do join the Union for this exciting and historical event in the Chamber.

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL
