Virtual Event: Rob Dunn at the Royal InstitutionDelicious

Join Rob Dunn as he explores the role that flavour may have played in the invention of the first tools, the extinction of giant mammals, the evolution of the world’s most delicious and fatty fruits, the creation of beer, and our own sociality.

In this talk, discover the deep history of flavour that will transform the way you think about human evolution and the gustatory pleasures of the foods we eat.

Rob will be taking you through the steps of how to start a sourdough starter at the beginning of the talk. To follow along, you will need:

  • Flour (Any type you like! Rye, whole wheat, all-purpose, etc.)
  • Dechlorinated water (filtered water or tap water that has been left in a clear glass overnight)
  • Mason jar or other glass jar
  • Cloth or paper napkins to use as jar covers
  • Rubberband
  • Ruler
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spoon for mixing
