IHI will host Prof. Lauren Benton of Yale University to discuss her new book, They Called It Peace: Worlds of Imperial Violence. Benton has authored a panoramic history of how imperial violence remapped the contours of empire and reordered the world from the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries. Pardee Prof. Andrei Mamolea will offer commentary and ask questions.
