Celebrating 100 audiobooks

In 2018, the Princeton University Press team launched the first university press audiobook program, Princeton Audio. Four years and almost a thousand hours of published audiobooks later, we are thrilled to be publishing our hundredth audiobook. Along the way, we have had the privilege of learning so much from our trusted partners in audio, from authors and agents to narrators, producers, proof-listeners, directors, and engineers.

Our hundredth audio production is only the tip of the iceberg, hinting at the hidden depths of our endeavors in audio, which also include co-publications with other publishers, audiobooks produced by partners new and old including Audible, Recorded Books, Blackstone, University Press Audio and many others.

To every author who has shared pronunciation tips, every producer who has guided narrators and author-narrators through a lengthy paragraph, and every narrator who has embraced our books and added energy, nuance, and accessibility to our scholarship, we share profound and enduring gratitude. To every PUP colleague past and present who has contributed ideas, time, expertise, and creativity to Princeton Audio, endless appreciation. To our trusted studio partner Sound Understanding, who have been with us every step of the way and have edited, consulted, and recommended narrators for all of our published and upcoming books, grazie mille. To our vendors who have made our audiobooks available the world over and helped us to fulfil our mission to connect authors and ideas across spheres of knowledge, thank you. And finally, to our listeners new and familiar, thank you for listening in, and for inspiring and being inspired by the ideas and scholarship of the Princeton University Press publishers and authors.
