Our international rights team is part of the Press’s intellectual property group, and is a fundamental component of our mission to bring scholarly ideas to the world, connecting authors and readers across spheres of knowledge to advance and enrich the global conversation. Working closely with international publishers and agents, the team increases the reach of our authors and their scholarship by licensing subsidiary rights in various languages and formats, including print, digital, and audio editions.
The rights team is responsible for hundreds of translation and subsidiary licenses each year and strives to fulfill the Press’s values of excellence, imagination, craftsmanship, cosmopolitanism, and boldness in each new edition. Princeton’s books are translated into more than thirty-five languages every year, and the rights team represents our books and authors at major international book fairs, including Frankfurt, London, Beijing, New York, and Guadalajara, as well as in visits to our publishing partners all over the world. We welcome interest in our books from new publishing partners in addition to our global network of trusted partners.
Princeton University Press would be delighted to hear from anyone who has a serious interest in acquiring the translation rights for our books. In the majority of cases, the Press is the holder of translation rights, so please initiate your inquiry with either the International Rights team or our designated rights agent.
